Chandler Peanut and Monica

Chandler Peanut and Monica

Update: Chandler passed away in late 2009 at the ripe old ferret age of 8 1/2 years old. Peanut continues to be spoiled by his foster family in Vienna. He has developed some adrenal disease symptoms and is receiving monthly Lupron injections.

Update: Monica passed away in late 2008 after a brief illness related to old age. Chandler is showing signs of his age but remains generally healthy aside from his issues with insulinoma. Peanut has developed into a beautiful middle aged ferret and remains with Chandler to keep him company.

Chandler, Peanut and Monica came to our rescue as a bonded trio. At the time, Peanut was about a year old, but Monica and Chandler were five years old, making them too old to be desirable adoption candidates. The trio was placed with one of our foster homes where they continue to receive lots of love and attention to this day. Now, (May 2008) Chandler and Monica are both about seven years old, and Peanut is about three. Monica is really showing her age but she continues to be a healthy happy old girl - she just likes to sleep a lot. Chandler is just as spry and happy as ever. He was recently diagnosed with adrenal disease, which caused him to lose most of his hair. He just had his surgery and we are thrilled to report that his coat is coming back in!

Your donations help us provide ongoing care for all of the permanent residents and ferrets in foster care that have medical issues, behavioral issues or are too old for adoption. EVEN SMALL DONATIONS help! Sponsorship works - won’t you help today?
